SkyRise · iPhone, Apple Watch & iPad

Last updated October 13, 2026

Your adventures are personal. SkyRise keeps your library on-device, with optional Apple Health, iCloud and nearby-device features that you control.

This policy explains how SkyRise, published by Chie Collection (“Chie”, “we”, “us”), handles information. It covers the current app and optional features; availability depends on your device, permissions and version. Effective October 13, 2026.

Your readings, hikes and summit passport

SkyRise stores information on your device to provide the features you use. This can include elevation and pressure readings, timestamps and place names; hike routes, elevation profiles, heart-rate samples and available steps, distance, energy and duration; summit goals, visits, confirmation details, stamps and rewards; profile name, avatar, notes, selected photos, journal entries, journeys, challenge updates and preferences.

GPS-confirmed summit records include the reference location/elevation and measurement quality used for confirmation. Progress and achievements are calculated from the SkyRise activities and summit records available on your device, rather than an automatic collection of all-day Health activity.

Eclipse awards

With location permission, SkyRise compares your position and time with bundled eclipse predictions on your device. A qualifying tracked hike can store the event, captured time, estimated eclipse phase, sky and available weather with the activity. The eclipse award itself does not store raw GPS coordinates; the activity may separately retain location or route data according to your tracking settings. Eclipse keepsakes leave location, route and hike statistics off by default. Supported Watch/nearby transfers can carry the award; Apple Health alone does not.

Location, motion and weather

With permission, the app uses location and device sensors to measure elevation and movement, record hikes, find nearby summits, confirm visits and show a local sky. Approximate location can support local weather and place names; routes and summit confirmation require more precise information. A supported active hike may use location in the background. Quick A → B measurements require foreground continuity. Stop recording or adjust permissions to control access.

Mountain perspective uses motion sensors, not the camera. Place-name and map features use Apple services. WeatherKit sends a location to Apple to retrieve weather. Recent weather, its request coordinates, observation times and diagnostic error information may be cached locally. Saved cards can retain the captured weather and sky for later sharing. These Apple service requests are not exclusively on-device processing. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Apple Health and Apple Watch

When enabled, SkyRise requests access to supported workouts, heart rate, walking/running distance, active energy and workout routes, and permission to write the supported workout data needed by your selected features. Steps can be recorded from device motion/workout information and retained with a SkyRise activity. The app uses authorized information for recording, graphs, progress and workout synchronization. A paired Watch and iPhone can exchange workout commands, live metrics, routes, summit information and saved activities.

We do not sell Health information or use it for advertising or marketing. You choose the Health permissions you grant and can change them in Apple’s Health/privacy settings. Apple manages Health storage and any system-level sync. Disabling SkyRise’s Health sync does not erase existing workouts or local copies.

Optional sync and nearby transfer

Apple Health can carry identifiable SkyRise workouts and available metrics/routes to your other Apple devices, subject to your permissions and Apple’s delivery timing. Separately, optional iCloud key-value storage carries your profile name, avatar, units, appearance and pressure preference. SkyRise does not place its workout archive, heart-rate records or routes into that iCloud preferences store.

Summit checklists/photos, saved weather, reading notes, bio and weekly goals do not automatically sync through profile preferences. Optional nearby transfer exchanges supported local records with a device you connect to. Nearby connections use a device/peer name for discovery. We do not operate a Chie cloud account or a server holding your activity library.

Photos, exports and private challenges

Photos you select may be copied into a local journal, summit record or share composition. Saving an export to Photos requests system permission where required. Static cards, videos, reports and exported files may contain your name, dates, location, route, summit visits and health metrics, depending on the format and your choices. Review the preview and privacy controls before sharing. Hiding route endpoints does not guarantee that other landmarks cannot identify a location.

Private challenge invitations and progress updates are exchanged through the sharing destination you choose. They can include your display name, challenge details, totals, timestamps and reactions. There is no automatic friend-challenge backend. Recipients and sharing services control their copies; deleting a local record does not recall content you already shared.

Purchases and the complimentary video

Apple processes purchases and supplies transaction/entitlement information so SkyRise can unlock and restore Pro. We do not receive your payment-card details or Apple Account password. A local preference records whether the complimentary elevation-card, hike-card or recap video has been successfully created. This allowance is local to the app installation, not a separate Chie account profile.

Retention, deletion and your choices

Saved content remains on your device until you remove it using the app’s available controls or remove the app, subject to system backups and other copies. Temporary exports and caches may be recreated or removed during normal use. Changing Pro access does not delete your saved records.

Removing or hiding a SkyRise activity does not itself remove its Apple Health workout. Manage Health records separately in Apple Health. Turning off sync preserves existing local and cloud values; uninstalling does not necessarily delete Health records, iCloud information, device backups, exported photos/videos or recipients’ copies. Manage each through its respective app or service. Revoke location, Motion, Health, Photos or local-network permissions in system settings as appropriate.

Advertising, analytics and diagnostics

SkyRise includes no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs. We do not sell your personal information or upload your activity library to a Chie-operated server. Apple may provide purchase, sales, crash, TestFlight and performance reports under its policies and your settings. We use information made available to us to support and improve the app.

Support and privacy requests

If you email tachena@chie.design, we receive your address, message and attachments. We use that information to respond and troubleshoot, retaining it as needed for the request and applicable obligations. Please omit private routes, health details and photos unless needed and you want to share them.

You may contact us to request access, correction or deletion of information you sent directly to us. Depending on your location, you may have additional privacy rights, including obtaining a copy, restricting or objecting to processing, or contacting your privacy authority. We cannot remotely access or delete private device or Apple service data that we do not hold. Visit SkyRise Support for device-level guidance.

Children’s privacy

SkyRise has no Chie account registration or Chie activity-upload server. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children. If a child has sent personal information directly to us, contact us so we can address it.
