This policy explains how Sun Sizer Pro, published by Chie Collection (“Chie”, “we”, “us”), handles information. Features vary by platform and version.
Your solar projects belong to you. Calculations and project work happen on your device. Optional iCloud sync, Android Geospatial tools, backups and sharing can involve the services described below.
Information used by the app
Sun Sizer Pro stores projects, site coordinates, equipment selections, layouts, measurements, notes, report branding and preferences to provide solar-planning features. We do not operate an app server that receives your project library, and no Chie account is required.
Location, camera and motion
Location access is optional and fills in a project’s site coordinates. You can enter coordinates manually instead. Motion and compass sensors support tilt, orientation and measurement tools. Camera access supports augmented-reality measurement on compatible devices. Project coordinates and measurements can become part of saved projects and exported reports.
Optional Google Geospatial on Android
In Android versions where “Sharper north with Google Geospatial” is available, it is off by default. If you enable it and grant precise location access, Google’s ARCore Geospatial service processes camera and location data to determine position and orientation. This is an online Google service, not purely on-device processing. You can leave it off and use the other planning and compass tools. See the Google Privacy Policy.
Storage, iCloud and backups
On Apple devices, supported project data can sync through your private iCloud database when iCloud sync is enabled and available. Apple processes that service under the Apple Privacy Policy; we do not have access to your private database. Android keeps the library locally and does not provide Apple iCloud sync. System backups and device transfer may include app data according to your provider and settings.
Reports and sharing
Reports and project exports may contain site coordinates, client or project details, notes and branding you entered. They are shared only with the destination you select. Imported files and selected images are used for the features you request. Recipients and storage providers control any exported copies under their own policies.
Retention and your choices
Use the app’s project controls to delete saved projects. You can revoke camera and location permissions in device settings and control iCloud, Geospatial and backup settings. Removing the app or its local data does not necessarily erase iCloud data, backups or exported copies; manage those separately with the relevant service. Store purchase records remain subject to the store’s retention rules.
Purchases and system diagnostics
Where purchases are available, Apple or Google processes payments and supplies purchase status to unlock or restore features. We do not receive your payment-card details or store password. The stores may make transaction, sales, crash and performance reports available to developers under their policies and your device settings. We use this information to operate and improve the app.
Advertising and tracking
We do not sell personal information, use app content for advertising, or include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs in the app. Platform services described in this policy operate under their own privacy terms.
Support and privacy requests
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond and resolve your request, retaining correspondence only as needed for support and applicable obligations. You can request access, correction or deletion of information you sent us at tachena@chie.design. We cannot retrieve or delete on-device content or private cloud data we do not hold. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to object to or restrict processing, obtain a copy, or complain to your local privacy authority.
Children’s privacy
We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through a Chie account or app server. If you believe a child has sent us personal information directly, contact us so we can address it.
This website
This policy covers the app. Visiting chie.design is separate from using the app. The website is hosted with OpenAI Sites and loads fonts from Google Fonts. Those services may process technical information such as your IP address and request details to deliver the website. See the OpenAI Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy. Opening Instagram or another external link is subject to that service’s policies.
Changes and contact
