This policy explains how SkyLevel, published by Chie Collection (“Chie”, “we”, “us”), handles information. Features vary by platform and version.
SkyLevel’s measurements, references, journal and selected photos are processed and stored on your device. There is no Chie account, advertising or tracking service.
Motion and saved measurements
SkyLevel uses motion sensors to measure tilt and alignment. Live sensor readings are processed on-device; the stability trace keeps a short recent history in memory. Readings you save, including captured measurement settings, names, notes and dates, are stored in your local journal. They are not uploaded to us.
Optional location
“Use Current Location” requests approximate location to calculate sunrise and sunset on-device for the background sky. This location is held in memory while the app runs and is not sent to us or another service by SkyLevel. There is no background location tracking. You can use manual sky times instead, and revoke permission in device settings.
Selected photos and exports
The system photo picker provides access to images you select, not your entire photo library. Attached photos are resized and re-encoded without the original photo metadata. Saved journal entries and images stay in the app’s local storage. Measurement cards may include a reading, date, context, note or attached photo. They leave the app only when you choose a sharing destination.
Retention, backups and deletion
Delete journal entries and attached photos through Field tools. Deleting a measurement also removes its attached photo. Settings and references remain until you remove them or delete the app’s local data. System backups may include app data according to your Apple settings. Manage backups and exported copies separately. Purchases use Apple’s App Store under the Apple Privacy Policy.
Purchases and system diagnostics
Where purchases are available, Apple or Google processes payments and supplies purchase status to unlock or restore features. We do not receive your payment-card details or store password. The stores may make transaction, sales, crash and performance reports available to developers under their policies and your device settings. We use this information to operate and improve the app.
Advertising and tracking
We do not sell personal information, use app content for advertising, or include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs in the app. Platform services described in this policy operate under their own privacy terms.
Support and privacy requests
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond and resolve your request, retaining correspondence only as needed for support and applicable obligations. You can request access, correction or deletion of information you sent us at tachena@chie.design. We cannot retrieve or delete on-device content or private cloud data we do not hold. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to object to or restrict processing, obtain a copy, or complain to your local privacy authority.
Children’s privacy
We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through a Chie account or app server. If you believe a child has sent us personal information directly, contact us so we can address it.
This website
This policy covers the app. Visiting chie.design is separate from using the app. The website is hosted with OpenAI Sites and loads fonts from Google Fonts. Those services may process technical information such as your IP address and request details to deliver the website. See the OpenAI Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy. Opening Instagram or another external link is subject to that service’s policies.
Changes and contact
