Good questions.
Useful answers.

Where should I start?

Open the illustrated user guide for a tour of the script library, screenplay editor, scene boards and shot planning. Some tools require Pro. The guide covers the Apple editions; Android controls and features may differ.

What should I do if I see a save warning?

Keep the app open and copy or export any unsaved writing if that option is available. Check your device’s available storage, then retry saving. Do not assume the latest text has reached iCloud. If the warning persists, email us with its exact wording, your app version and the steps that led to it.

Why is my script missing on another Apple device?

On iPhone, iPad and Mac, use the same Apple Account, allow iCloud access for Cut To | Fade, and check Settings → iCloud in the app. Connect your devices to the internet, check that their app versions are compatible, and allow syncing to settle before editing on another device.

Keep recovered or conflict copies until you have compared them with the current draft. iCloud sync is not an independent backup; export important drafts separately. Android stores work locally and does not use this Apple iCloud workflow.

How do I restore Pro?

On an Apple device, sign in with the Apple Account used for your purchase, then select Settings → Restore Purchases while online. Allow the store to finish and note any error message.

Android purchases are handled through Google Play. Apple and Google Play purchases do not transfer between stores. For a purchase issue on either platform, tell us which store you used, your device and the app version.

Can I recover a deleted script?

In the Apple editions, check Recently Deleted, choose Restore, then verify that you have the right draft. Items are normally kept for 30 days, so this is not long-term backup storage. Also check whether you archived the script instead of deleting it.

Deletion can sync between Apple devices. Contact us before deleting the app or its data if you are trying to recover writing. Chie does not hold a copy of your private script library that we can retrieve for you.

Why does my imported script or PDF look different?

For FDX imports, read the import notice and retain your original file: unsupported metadata or layout may not carry over. For PDF output, check Letter versus A4, Screenplay versus Multi-Camera format, act markers and page locks. Review the result in Reading Mode. Changing editor text size does not change PDF type size.

Why can’t I edit a script or use a tool?

Check whether the script is locked. If the app says the document was created in a newer format, update Cut To | Fade. For a missing board or planning tool, check whether it requires Pro, whether a filter is active, or whether it appears in the More menu.

How do I fix a line that has the wrong screenplay format?

Place the cursor in the line and choose the intended line type. Before applying a broader Fix Line Types repair, create a snapshot so you have a local revision checkpoint to compare against.
